I first read excerpts of the book in a 2007 New York Times Magazine article. It so impressed me that I immediately went to the computer and registered to swim the Hudson River that summer(one of the rivers in the book) and did. The book, not surprisingly, is even better than the excerpts. This year I will swim the Hudson again. I would recommend the book to swimmers, environmentalists and pretty much anyone who would like to take some time to reflect on rivers and what they mean to us.
This book is like a quiet respite on a rainy afternoon. So nice to curl up with, and some great thoughts to ponder!

I ordered this book after making an appointment at Dr. Redd's office in Utah as a way to get to know the doctor and his practices. After reading the book, I felt like I had spent $15 to read an infomercial. I felt I had wasted my money. I decided to cancel my appointment.
Unfortunately this book primarily provides various stories, comments and "testimonials" for the author and his practice. There was little practical advise for individuals seeking information on where to turn or what steps to take to help improve their lives - except advise to come to the author and his practice.I was disappointed that advertisements for this book led us to believe there would be practical advise for those suffering. It should have been transparent that is is simply a book of testimonials for the author. Truly sad that the author would take advantage of the public by suggesting they will find hope and suggestions with his book
I just don't see what all the hype is about this book. It offers no true solutions or guidance. It's just stories of people with similar symptoms. It's great to know that I am not alone...but some actual guidance would be helpful.
Lame book. Just tells you about everyone else symptoms and how "he" helped them. Doesn't really help you personally with knowing how to help yourself. Basically in short, the book is a sales pitch for his practice.
This book seemed more like an advertisement. Don't waste your money.
I suffered (undiagnosed) with Hashimoto's Disease for 16 years before finally being listened to by a doctor. A good friend recommended this book to me and I cried through the entire thing because I felt like I related to each story in the book. Dr. Redd happens to be just an hours drive from me so after reading, I set up an appointment with his clinic. This guy is absolutely brilliant and I'm not even kidding. This is the book to read and the guy to talk to about your thyroid issues!
The book was stories about people who have Hashimotos and found “cures†at the authors clinic. Nothing explain how. Just a long sales pitch for Red River Clinic.

Frankly, with my background and credentials I was embarrassed when I bought this (a "Dummies") book. Simply put, I bought it because I was sick to death of knowing absolutely nothing about the Registry (as in *ABSOLUTELY NOTHING*) and I was sick to death of those other infernal Registry books that are six centimeters thick!Having read Mr. Weadock's book very thoroughly cover to cover, I'm now completely familiar with the MS Registry editors, how to use multiple methods to backup and restore the entire Registry (or just parts of it), and the layout and organization of the Registry. I'm now able to do things to my W2K (and NT4) machines that can only be accomplished by editing the Registry... things that have been eluding me for over two years! I'm also finding that I now know more about the Registry and the MS editors than even my most skilled colleagues.Please, don't be afraid of this book. It's an easy and pleasant read. But also, please don't underestimate this book... it taught me enough that I've actually put a seasoned veteran or two to shame.Daniel L.
