Maybe it's a good book? I don't know. But $39.99 for a 192 page kindle book is too much.
David Guttmann does a fine job of taking philosophy, logotherapy, and real life issues we will all face in old age and painting a very optimistic outlook on our second half of life. He provides other perspectives that value self responsibility and free will. As a social worker working with the elderly, I really appreciate his approach and empowering outlook on growing old. I think it is a must have for anyone going into gerontology or working with older people in any profession. It is certainly applicable to all adults as we will all be faced with death at some point.

This is an adorable story with illustrations that are bright and cheery adding so much to the story. It would be great if the pictures and writing was on the same page or if the story was written in a bigger font.For an e-book some work needs to be done for it to be more enjoyable. The writing is tiny on the page (even after trying to make it bigger). Because of this, I am giving it a lower rating.I was gifted an ARC in return of an honest review.
Wizzy Woo and the Pirate Adventure is cute story, appropriate for reading aloud to preschoolers, and independently for 1st & 2nd graders. The illustrations are vivid, well drawn and appealing to young readers. Boys will enjoy the cats’ mischievous antics. Bivitt is funny. Everyone needs that friend who ‘keeps it real’. Pirate Adventure is good as a standalone book but I like the fact that it’s a series. I had the opportunity to preview the book via Hidden Gems - ARC. However, I opted to download the kindle to share with my grandson.
My kiddos loves this book! I think it’s most appropriate for 4 and up but my 3 three old did enjoy looking at the pictures! Great story line!
Kristin's kitten and his friends sneak a ride in her bicycle basket so that they can share her treasure island adventure. They end up accidentally finding a treasure – and making an even more shocking discovery. But, cat-like, they are much more interested in the picnic chicken! This is maybe a five-minute bedtime read, or it would be if you didn't stop to look at the pictures, which would be a pity. The art is cartoony, vigorous and striking with strong colors rather than pretty or cute (not that Wizzy Woo isn't very cute!) and with many details to look at. The text is simple and lively with lots of conversation, mostly between the cats, and a sprinkling of more unusual words.I received an advance reading copy and this is my voluntary review.
This is the second book I’ve read by these authors and I must say I am not disappointed. Wizzy Woo and his friends are an adventurous group of felines that decide to tag along on their owners day trip. They find themselves deep in a hidden cavern that leads to an unexpected discovery.The illustrations are bright and very attractive to readers of all ages. The dialogue is snappy and simple enough to be read by primary school students and engaging enough to keep very young children involved in the story as it unfold. Oh, and adults will enjoy it as well! ðŸ‘ðŸ¼Another winner by Ms. Hopkins and Mr. Benham.I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this title.
This is a sweet children's book that I was given for free to read and review. I have a two year old grandson who loves books but also has a very short attention span if the story isn't interesting he's bored. This book kept him intrigued from beginning to end. I mean who wouldn't want to go on an adventure with your cat friends looking for pirate gold. The illustrations of the cats and their adventure fit perfectly with the narrative and he followed along easily. The story was fun and fluid and he was ready to see what happened on each page. This is the second book we have read from these authors and I highly recommend them for young audiences of new soon to be readers.
This book is a such a cute take on a treasure hunt! Wizzy-Woo and his friends are just plain adorable. The story is done well and moves smoothly. The illustrations are colorful and really bring the story to life. One of the reasons I like Helga Hopkins books is they convey a subtle message and this is no exception. While going on this grand adventure gets them in a pickle they have to work together to get out of it! This book is perfect for young children. I highly recommend this book! Helga is one of my favorite children's authors. I voluntarily read this book from ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Wizzy Woo is the cutest darn cat! I read Hopkins & Benham previously with Captain Blownaparte books and wase not disappointed again. This is a cute tale of Wizzy and his friends who hitchhike on a family trip with Wizzy's owners. They get into some mischief but in the end everyone is happy, rewarded and safe. My grandkids loved the book as it held their attention with pictures and the story. I absolutely LOVED cranky Bivitt :) Would love to see some of his adventures..HINT HINT HINT!! I would definitely recommend this book for you to read with your children or for them to have themselves.
