Plus the sex scenes between them are amazing and very well done.The plot in Deep Cover is in part tied to what happens in the first two books, so I would recommend reading those books before jumping into this one. While you could read this one on its own, you’ll definitely understand more of the backstory and motivation of the main characters if you’ve read the other books. I liked how the missing women case that Amy was working tied into Cabe’s investigation. The final showdown in the book was fast-paced with the perfect amount of action and I really enjoyed how the overall storyline wrapped up.Deep Cover was a fantastic conclusion to the Love Over Duty series although I'm hoping this isn't the end and we'll get more books following other members of Eagle Securities in the future. I highly recommend these books if you're in the mood for a great romantic suspense series.
I thoroughly enjoyed Scarlett Cole’s Deep Cover. Cabe and Amy were multi-layered characters that seemed wonderfully authentic and enjoyable. The back story to their romance seemed well thought out, researched and played out evenly over the course of the book. I always enjoy romance that focuses on two well developed characters naturally falling in love because circumstances bring them together. While this is the third in the series, I felt like it could stand alone by providing enough details to give the reader a brief background from the first two books while not being long-winded. I definitely recommend this book and will be reading the first two books in the series!
Loved this story with all the excitement and drama from the first books in the series. Ms Scarlett continues to astound with her writing!
This one just didn't work for me and maybe it's because I hadn't read the previous two books although the main plot seemed to stand alone. It was obvious that the secondary characters and had been introduced and their stories were in the previous books but it didn't seem that it was necessary to read those books first.This book centered around Cabe Moss who lost his fiance and really felt as though he would never love again. He meets and is attracted to Amy and although the first meeting doesn't go well it turns out they end up working together. I expected quite a bit of emotion and angst with Cabe dealing with his loss and the new attraction he felt but somehow it just didn't seem to materialize. I jut didn't connect a lot with either character and honestly found myself skimming a bit. It just felt very predictable and I didn't believe the connection between Cabe and Amy.A copy of this book was provided to me by Net Galley and the publisher with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

It was fun to see the group interact and tease each other. To party together and bring family together. It was interesting to listen to the various legal teams work together and plan out what they would do, how to protect Amy on the boat, then how to get her back once things went wrong. It was especially fun to listen to Amy and Cade plan on finding a beach at the end, planning their future together.Knowing some of these characters from previous books helped, but even new characters such as Amy Murray and sleazy Sokolov were well written. Amy was a competent agent in her own right. She was doing this undercover case because her mother had been taken. She was trying to help other families to get answers because her family never got answers.Cabe is still getting over the death of his wife, Jess. But when he meets Amy, he realizes that maybe he is ready to move on. Maybe it’s okay to let go. This is a group of guys who met in kindergarten and are now adults. They tease each other, get mad at each other when one crosses the line. But they forgive, too. They support each other, they are incredibly close.The pace was spot on. Things moved along, but the author held some things back a bit for more suspense in some places, like that car turning North instead of South and Sokolov knowing exactly who Amy was! The tension was high throughout the book between the undercover case and the romance. I highly recommend this book and this series for adventure and romance.

Other than that, it looks to be a wonderful, thought-out book. I've read the whole thing and it's made me so much more excited about our trip!

Excellent on several counts: 1. Great photographs, 2. Well organized and presented with touching stories, 3. Insight into cultural changes afoot in Cuba.
As a transwoman myself and as a professional investigator I found this work a fascinating introduction to the lives of personalities on the same gender spectrum with me but living in another society altogether. The photographs are simply beautiful: the colors are vivid, the compositions excellent and the faces of the subjects are looking right at you revealing both their exceptional bravery and their vulnerability. The text is spare but informative and the quotations from the people photographed are very moving. At a time when transgender individuals are becoming more and more visible and active in society -- think of Kristen Beck, a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Navy Seals now running for Congress -- and the United States and Cuba are moving toward open and friendly relations, this book could not be more timely or relevant. It's one of those volumes that you'll keep in your bookcase on that shelf reserved for books you know you'll return to again and again. TransCuba is not just a book of photographs. It's a work of art that you'll cherish. I recommend it without any reservations at all.
Once again artist Mariette Pathy Allen illuminates an aspect of transgender culture. Her photographs, interviews, and her two previous books, Transformations: Crossdressers and Those Who Love Them (1984) and The Gender Frontier (2003) are among the primary reasons transgender people have become a community and now a movement. Her latest contribution to society’s understanding is TransCuba, a book that is as colorful and passionate as the country and peoples she documents. This is not the first time Mariette has traveled to another country and documented trans culture, but it is the first time she has devoted an entire book to one country. She is the “Margaret Mead†of the trans world enriching our own lives by according to her subjects the dignity and respect they deserve. That her subject in this book includes Cuba, itself, makes this work all the more enlightening.
This book is gorgeous! Mariette Pathy Allen skillfully and sensitively captures the intimate lives of this oft-marginalized community in a way that highlights them as being beautifully human. So frequently, transgender individuals are seen as freaks or sensationalized as spectacles, but here we are invited into their private spaces, privy to their family and intimate relationships and taken on a journey through the Cuban social and political landscape. Besides the formal beauty of the intimate portraits, rich landscapes and intricate still-lifes, the importance of this book cannot be overstated, as it represents a specific moment in history that will be gone within the blink of an eye.
A gorgeous and glowing collection of portraits that captures the strength, beauty and variety of Cuban transwomen. I have used all of Allen's photography collections to teach transgender issues and literature because her talented eye engages students to see beyond sensationalized stereotypes to recognize a shared struggle and humanity. By pairing the portraits with autobiographical narratives, this book also provides a depth and variety unavailable in many other texts or mediums; it would therefore be useful in many classroom settings, particularly those that also cover global LGBTQ or human rights.
