All 4 of our children are in the double digits; so this has been an ideal devotional for our "God and I" times in the mornings! Each teen takes weekly turns reading for the day. Then, whatever verse for the day is, we read the entire chapter together as well. (We divide up the number of verses in the chapter, and we read a section of verses at a time.I've actually seen improvement over the summer in our youngest's reading ability! :)
I bought the book because I liked the pages I was able to see; my 16 year-old daughter tells me this book makes her feel like Jesus is her best friend and speaking directly to her heart.
The devotion is gets me in reading the bible, and praying. At the end there is a prayer for you to recite, but unlike most devotions there is no amen, it encourages you to elaborate. I am closer to God because of the devotion and I am only on Day 21.Recommend it to all teens and some young adults.
I would really recommend this one for your teen! My son actually seems to like it as he said some of it is real life stuff he confronts on any given day. Not that he lets us see him study it ...we know he does... as the pages are dog eared!!!
My son is 15 and we read this every night. It gives you the verse and then a quick explanation like Jesus is talking directly to you then the prayer. I like it because there are no stories from babyboomers trying to relate to today's teens! Often the verse and the following is enough and my son will spontaneously go into his own prayer. I highly recommended this as a brief but powerful tool to keep your mind on God.
My 15 year old asked for a new devotional after finishing the one she had. After researching and reviewing other devotionals for teens on Amazon, I was drawn to this one. She loves it!! The readings and scriptures have the perfect balance, and relate to issues/topics that teens face in the modern world. Would definitely buy this for other teens as a gift!
Recently purchased this for my Granddaughter, she is going to love this book. After I read some of the pages, I just know this will be so good for her. This book is awesome for uplifting your spirits each day you read it. For each day, it starts you off with a Bible verse, then a little passage that speaks from God's point of view directly to you, and finally there is a prayer reminding you of God's love and how we must try to be more like him, and other things too! Great book! :)
