The best on the ground London Guide for residents and tourists alike. Great index, each block shown from the air so you can match the shapes you see at any intersection and find the nearest tube station. OK, it doesn't have restaurant reviews and gift shops highlighted. But it can get you to whatever you found on Google. Worth it.
Compact edition, would fit into a generous trouser or jacket pocket. This is the latest edition (2017), which was not available from Amazon Prime when I ordered it (March 2017). Shipped from UK. Should be great for travel. This Atlas shows all of greater London. The print quality is excellent, but there is a lot of detail. Some of the most popular areas are featured in a "super scale section" that shows even more detail. A London transport map and index is included. There isn't a practical or affordable fold-out map that shows all of greater London, so if you are traveling outside of the central London tourist areas, the atlas is a must. London is big! If I were buying it for the car (i.e., driving around), I would have bought the larger format edition.
Indispensible for navigating London. The detail can be overwhelming, but that's the point. Ever little street is here.
I bought this 15 years ago for my trip to London. It is a busy page, full of info, but, and here's the rub, its very busy. If you are young it is great, I suppose, but if you are over 50 you don't need or want to know every alley off the street 4 blocks from parliament. If you are a tourist, and you have but 6 days, go with the Knopf guide for London, the print is big the riff raff is filtered out and the major sites are clear. If you are a realtor or moving here this is a good book for that
The description of this product was WAY off. This is JUST an atlas--- with no additional information about even significant sights or locations. It is like having a mini phone book to tote around the city. It was described as essential for the detail, I really expected it to have some additional information about the various landmarks, etc.
