This book is split into two distinct sections, with the first section offering practical financial advice, and the second offering real stories the author about how the author turned the financial situations of financially-burdened people around.The section on practical advice is nice. It clearly explains how buying items now using "borrowed" money is a bad idea because of the added interest required when paying back the money. The author shows how the more desperate you are for borrowing money, the more expensive it gets, and this never-ending cycle makes it difficult to resolve unless you start living within your means to pay off the debt and avoid it altogether.The second part, which has stories of real people who had their financial lives turned around, is a bit less useful to me. Since these stories vary from person to person, it does not offer practical concrete advice, but rather emphasis on using faith to trust in the Kingdom of God for your financial needs.Overall, this book is well-written, but understand that there is some scripture references involved, so some religious background would be nice to better appreciate this book.

I purchased this workbook for a CNA Program that I recently completed. The book arrived in new condition, and it was very helpful in successfully completing the course. My only recommendation would be that they should add an answer sheet in the back of the book, so that I can check my answers for accuracy.
This was a great book to use with the online workbook chapter test. I was able to take the test following each chapter some of the pages was a little of but okay. Some of the things in the book wasn't really on the test. But it still gave you points on some of the written and definitely most of the clinical part. I took my test and passed.
You would think a workbook would have an answer key - but this one does not. It’s a waste of money bc you don’t know if you are actually doing it correct.
Used it for school. There is a newer version of this out but it’s not that much different than this one.
My son wanted this for his highschool class.
I ordered this book for a friend, because I have prime 2 day shipping. I assume it was very helpful in studying for her certification, since she passed the test.

Great book, easy to read and understand. This book came in condition as described and shipping was quick! Great for anyone trying to learn more about paths phys! The author makes things easy to understand, there are lot of pictures and diagrams. I appreciated the easy way that it was written with a good mix of words and pictures. In my pharm book the print is VERY small (microscope anyone?) so this book was a nice change since the font is of a good size and there aren't too many words on the page. The pages are a bit flimsy as this is a paper back book so you have to be careful not to turn pages to quickly or cram it into your book bag or it will quickly get beat up. The pages highlight well and it does not bleed onto the next page so for someone like me who likes to make lots of notes and highlighting it was great!
It could be written better. Makes things sound confusing due to the poor writing. It is sometimes disorganized, making me wonder why some information is placed under this heading/topic, etc. This book's writing flaws are pretty distracting actually; I'm always questioning what the writers were thinking everytime I read this book.Also, answers to some of the end of chapter questions can't be found in the book. They weren't even basic knowledge that I would be expected to know before reading this book.I'm giving this book three stars because it's just not written that well, not because I find pathophysiology difficult.
I used this book for a graduate level pathophysiology class and while some of the information was great, I felt at times like I was reading an entry level basic pathophysiology book, even high school. Some of the chapters were more beneficial than others but for a graduate course I really feel I needed something with more detail. On the plus side, it wasn't difficult to move through the material in this book as it is in some high level books.
I'm already half way through the class and this textbook is amazing, very easy to read, they get to the point. If you don't know your anatomy/physiology or microbiology you WILL have a difficulty with this book. A lot of the reading expects you to have a good knowledge base on Anatomy/Physiology and microbiology.
This provides just short paragraphs on each topic. Great for beginners but not for advanced pathophysiology students. I will keep this for my children to use as they get into more complex science and biology classes.
I thought that this book was fairly effective in covering the majority of the material that it did. It would help, a fair amount, to know normal physiology before taking this class. It's not required, however. They will break down normal physiology down far enough for the clinical models used at the end of the chapters. Knowledge is consolidated fairly well. Information concerning treatments can sometimes be a little lacking, but should probably be expected. That would probably fall under more advanced classes or pharmacology.
Good for the class I was taking. Rentals were easy to order and return. Great price.
Excellent resource and great clinical scenarios. Really helps put all the pieces together as a new nurse.

Had to purchase for English Lit. Good book for the money. Hard to read...
While Middle English literature is/was/will be dominated by Chaucer, he was not the only major author of his time. What set Chaucer apart from his many contemporaries was an ironic distance from his material, a strong sense of himself as working within a larger European tradition, and a keen eye for what would later become realism. Outside of Chaucer, the prevailing naivete of his contemporaries is downright depressing, and one wonders if human beings evolved some extra part of their brain after his glorious rescue of the language.But let me attempt to be fair. Chaucer DID have several worthy contemporaries. One of them (who was at least his artistic equal and probably his better) was the Pearl Poet. The other was John Gower. Gower's poetry lacks a lot of the material that a modern reader will find compelling (humor and humanity, for instance) and offers instead moral improvement in the form of translated fables. As far as poetic artistry goes, Gower was a better metricist than Chaucer, and one can feel the smoothness of each line that, while lacking that particular Chaucerian clangor, is a virtue in itself. But material-wise, many readers (other than Medievalists--and even they may need to prop their eyelids open) will just find Gower dull.To some degree, Gower has simply not stood the test of time. Out of all of his works, we only read the Confessio now--his other French and Latin works have, for the most part, been forgotten. Moreover, the Confessio's moralistic tales do not always seem relevant to the current time. Need a piece of literature be relevant or applicable to life in order to be studied and written about? Certainly not, but if anything more is to be done with it (such as keeping it on one's shelf to be read in times of existential trouble, or simply to be read for pleasure), then it should not feel as dated as Gower does. His work, to a large degree, has perished, and one gets the sense of reading some "old, dead white guy" as opposed to hearing a living voice.It's always hard judging a book like Gower's, which was written such a long time ago for such a different milieu, on the terms of works that surpassed his own in the realm of imaginative literature. It is my opinion that what wisdom can be gained by reading the Confessio might more readily be gained (in greater abundance and profundity, no less) from reading The Canterbury Tales, or Troilus and Criseyde, or Gawain and the Green Knight, or Pearl, or the Parliament of Fowls, and so on. If you're a newcomer to Middle English lit, you may want to avoid Gower for now, and pick up one of the aforementioned texts.

It was not staged again until 1924--and when it was, the play became an audience favorite all over again.Author William Wycherley (1640-1715) drew upon sources that included French comedy and Shakespearean structure, but the end result was of his own creation: an outrageously bawdy type of sex farce in which few, if any, of the characters can be described as innocent of evil intent. In THE COUNTRY WIFE, Horner allows society to believe he is impotent, and as such husbands entrust him with their wives. But Horner is anything but impotent, and before long he is bedding a host of bored, foolish, and incredibly horny women--including the young, silly Margery, an ignorant country girl recently wed to an elderly man.THE COUNTRY WIFE is particularly famous, or infamous, for the so-called "China Scene." Horner claims to have extensive knowledge of the china collected by fashionable ladies, and this provides them with an excuse to visit his rooms to discuss china. And discuss it they do indeed, so much so that the very word "china" becomes funnier with every repetition. But this is far from the only notable moment the play has to offer; from carousing housewives to hysterical husbands, THE COUNTRY WIFE is lewd, lacivious, and almost unbearably funny.Like many early Restoration plays, THE COUNTRY WIFE has been accused of being "cold," for does not really provide the viewer/reader with a sympathetic hero or heroine, nor does it punish the wrong-doers at the end, a fact which later censors found particularly outrageous. I love books written in this time period and was so looking forward to reading this one! It was cute but I didn't fall in love with it like I'd anticipated for some reason.... I think I was wanting more details in each chapter. Nothing wrong with the book, but just didn't make me want to read it again.

The photograph that is visible now for this item makes it look like it's the New Mermaids edition. But that is not what I received. The publisher is "Players Press." The cover is heavy-duty cardboard paper. It looks like it might be intended for use by a group of actors, not someone reading the play in a library. This is a copy of the play, but if you want a scholarly edition, this isn't it.Of course, Wycherley's play is a masterpiece of Restoration comedy. Everyone should read it, in this edition or another.
